In this modern era of college football, quarterbacks transfer to seek better opportunity. It's a common occurrence.
And in the last decade, two notable QBs have left Ohio State and found solid success away from the Buckeyes.
One is Joe Burrow, who went to LSU and was a national champion.
The other? Quinn Ewers, who left for Texas and helped turn the Longhorns around.

Burrow went into the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals and has been a star, if a bit too injured.
Ewers was a seventh-round pick in the 2025 draft by the Miami Dolphins.
On Sunday, Ewers will make his first NFL start for the Dolphins. He's replacing the benched Tua Tagovailoa. And awaiting on the other side? Burrow and the Bengals.
Both teams are out of the playoff race, so this will just be a fascinating post-OSU reckoning.
The Athletic's Jay Morrison suspects this is the first time this has ever happened:
Gonna go out on a limb and say Ewers v Burrow is the first starting QB matchup in NFL history between two players who transferred from Ohio State.

The Bengals will certainly be expected to outscore the Dolphins. It's a chance for Ewers, though, to prove he belongs.
He was expected to go in the middle rounds of the draft, not the seventh, and maybe Ewers can begin to affirm his own NFL value.
