Ohio State Buckeyes predicted to have 4 1st-round picks in 2026 NFL Draft image

As usual, the Ohio State Buckeyes are loaded.

In ESPN's latest NFL mock draft for 2026, put together by Jordan Reid, OSU is projected to have four first-round picks.

The earliest projected to go off the board is safety Caleb Downs, who Reid pegs to the Dolphins at the No. 5 overall pick.

"We'll take one of the top defensive players with this pick," Reid writes. "The Dolphins desperately need secondary help, and Downs would provide a building block on the back end alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick."

Reid goes right back to the Buckeyes with the next pick, sending linebacker Arvell Reese to the New Orleans Saints at No. 6 overall.

"Reese is one of the best prospects regardless of position, and there will be debates on whether he's best suited as an edge rusher or an off-ball linebacker at the next level," Reid writes.

Then in the 20s, Reid comes back to the Buckeyes for two more.

First, it's linebacker Sonny Styles to the Denver Broncos at No. 23.

"Styles would provide Denver with a rangy, second-level defender who shows plenty of instincts in coverage," Reid writes. "He is capable of rushing the passer on obvious passing downs, and his wrap-up-and-finish tackling ability would make him a reliable option immediately."

And at No. 25, it's Carnell Tate going to the Cleveland Browns to help their wide receiver room.

"This team-prospect pairing makes too much sense," Reid writes. "Tate is one of the most polished receiver prospects in this class, with dependable hands and the route-running ability of an experienced NFL veteran. His type of play can translate right away into the Browns' offense, which could use more pass catchers alongside Jerry Jeudy. Tate is the next man up in the Ohio State receiver pipeline to the NFL, and he'd be a good fit with Dante Moore, whom we slotted to Cleveland at No. 3."

Given the immense talent level of Ohio State's roster, it wouldn't be shocking to see one or two other players play themselves into first-round consideration by the time the draft rolls around, too.
