It's not often that Ohio State turns to Ohio University for help.

But on Sunday, the Buckeyes' football program landed a talented transfer from the Bobcats.

It's definitely a cool subplot going forward for OSU.

The new guy is Mason Williams, a tight end. ESPN's Pete Thamel reported the news.

Williams caught 26 passes for 276 yards in the 2025 seasons for Ohio U. He also is called a "proficient blocker" by Thamel.

Buckeyes starting tight end Max Klare is eligible for the NFL Draft, although he could come back to school. He was a transfer this season from Purdue.

Williams is originally from Mogadore, an Ohio powerhouse.

His dad was a college football player at Toledo, and his mom played softball there.

Williams was a three-sport high school athlete with basketball and baseball.

Now, he's a Buckeye.
