Julian Sayin stacks another Heisman performance in 34-10 win over Purdue image

Julian Sayin threw for 303 yards and a touchdown as top-ranked Ohio State beat Purdue 34-10 on Saturday. The Heisman frontrunner might have competition in his own camp. 

Jeremiah Smith caught 10 passes for 137 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown that broke open the game midway through the second quarter. The fourth game hitting over 100 yards this year, moving him to sixth on Ohio State’s all-time list.

Sayin completed 27-of-33 passes with one interception, while C.J. Donaldson Jr. Scored twice, which were the first and last touchdowns of the day for the Buckeyes. Bo Jackson added 75 yards on 14 carries as Ohio State rushed for 170 yards and held the ball for more than 40 minutes.

“They’re business-like, they’re growing up every day,” OSU coach Ryan Day said. “They’re edgy, competitive and know what they want to get done.”

The defending national champions extended the nation’s longest active winning streak to 13 and stayed on course for a potential Big Ten title-game showdown with No. 2 Indiana.

Purdue managed just 186 total yards and has dropped seven straight overall. Also, setting of a school record with 16 consecutive conference games without a win. Ryan Browne was 10-of-19 for 76 yards and an interception.

Ohio State returns home to face UCLA next Saturday.
