Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin has made his feelings clear heading into the Cotton Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes: mistake-free football is a recipe for success.
The Buckeyes' 13-10 loss to the Indiana Hoosiers was Sayin's first problematic game of his career in Columbus, as an interception set the tone for what came next.
For Sayin, blocking the Indiana loss out of his system reminded him how much he has to let the game come to him, he told reporters ahead of the New Year's Day matchup.
"It's gonna be on us to take care of the ball and not put our team in a bad situation," Sayin said of his performance improvement. "I think taking care of the ball is going to be extremely important in this game."
Sayin said coach Ryan Day has been a huge guidance toward his success, feeling Day has guided him nearly every step of the way.
“It’s been great having him with us- a great quarterback coach and developer and someone who really teaches a position very well, and we take so much from him," Sayin said. "Just brings the best out of us and pushes us to be the best."
Sayin's Buckeyes will try to advance to the semifinals again, as they look to advance to the national title game by season's end again.
