Former Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is used to winning.
First, it was a national title triumph with the Buckeyes last winter. Now it's with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in his rookie season.
The Buccaneers, like the Bears, are inching closer to winning a division title of their own, the NFC South. If they do win the division, Egbuka may be one of a few key players to offer a cap tip to.
As College Football HQ's Nick Merriam smartly noted during his critique of the 15 best NFL draft classes by college (with Ohio State unsurprisingly at No. 1), Egbuka was prominently highlighted as someone on the verge of a memorable close to his rookie season.
"Emeka Egbuka is on pace to a 1,000 yard receiving season as a rookie," Merriam wrote.
Entering Week 16, Egbuka can certainly achieve this feat. He's currently sitting at 870 receiving yards. Therefore, he only needs to average just above 43 yards a game over the final three regular-season games.
Egbuka's last game of over 40 receiving yards was this past Thursday night in a 29-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in the closing seconds, as he secured four catches for 64 yards.
Egbuka has gone over a month without scoring a touchdown, but has six on the season and may need a few big games to get the offense, particularly quarterback Baker Mayfield, returning to form.
The Buccaneers head to Carolina this Sunday to take on a Panthers team in an oddly similar position regarding the division title.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on Fox.
