The Ohio State Buckeyes could be playing in the Rose Bowl if they beat the Indiana Hoosiers Saturday night, barring how the College Football Playoff rankings shake out.

But, there is another scenario at play where if the Hoosiers should pull off the upset, it puts a huge wrench in the College Football Playoff to be revealed Sunday before the NFL games officially kick off.

According to USA Today's Paul Myerberg,  a Hoosiers win changes things. Instead of the Buckeyes potentially going to Pasadena, it would be the Hoosiers taking over the top spot.

This would put the Buckeyes in a situation where they get a rough draw, say a lower seed, or worse.

Nonetheless, a brutal hit from Buckeyes defensive end Caden Curry on Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza set the tone for a hard-hitting spectacle.

The Big Ten made history Saturday night, as it's the first time the top two teams in the nation meet for the conference title.

The Hoosiers currently lead 3-0 at the 1:21 mark from Indianapolis.
