An early setback didn't spoil Notre Dame's 2024 season, the Irish are hoping the same holds true this fall.
The Irish have an extra week to recover after a gut-wrenching 27-24 loss at No. 10 Miami in the opener. CJ Carr and Co. will take the additional prep time with another ranked opponent looming in No. 19 Texas A&M.
The Aggies will tune up for their first visit to South Bend in 25 years against Utah State this week in what figures to be another comfortable game after a season-opening win over UT San Antonio. A&M will look to avenge last year's Week 1 loss to the Irish in College Station, a game that set Notre Dame on a path to the national championship game.
Few could have foreseen that at the time, particularly after the Irish's stunning loss to Northern Illinois the following week. Marcus Freeman's team doesn't have that margin for error this time around against a formidable opponent.
