TCU thrashes UNC, shades Hulu doc in Belichick’s college debut image

Bill Belichick’s arrival at North Carolina was scripted like a Hollywood premiere. Chapel Hill buzzed all day as blue-blood royalty Michael Jordan, Lawrence Taylor, Mia Hamm watched from the stands. ESPN’s primetime stage carried the anticipation of a new era.

But the Tar Heels’ first act quickly unraveled into a nightmare. TCU dominated from the second quarter on, rolling to a 48–14 win. For Belichick, it was a brutal introduction to the college game. The 48 points were more than any of his Patriots teams ever allowed in 333 NFL contests.

The Horned Frogs didn’t just take the win, but also got the last laugh on social media.  TCU’s Football's official X account mocked UNC’s upcoming Hulu docuseries with a perfectly timed jab. “When does episode one come out?”

Belichick was true to form afterward. “We’ve got a lot of work to do,” he said, the same tone that once followed Super Bowl wins and playoff defeats. But this wasn’t Foxborough.

The Hulu cameras will be there to capture every misstep and adjustment. What was pitched as an inside look at Belichick’s blueprint may now feel more like a reality show about survival in college football.

The Belichick experiment is suddenly less about spectacle and more about whether the legend can rewrite his script without a true deadline.
