Tate Sandell is a really good kicker for the Oklahoma Sooners.
OU knows it can rely on Sandell to take a good, left-footed swing at it from anywhere inside 60 yards for a field goal.
But there's something else that college football fans have noticed at times this season about Sandell: His pants appear to be shorter than just about everyone else's.
He went viral for it in mid-November when Oklahoma was taking on Tennessee.
Since then, Sandell's pants have been nearly as short, at least in photographs, as they were that day, when the broadcast at one point called them "short shorts."
Why are Oklahoma kicker Tate Sandell's pants so short?
The origin of the viral Sandell "short shorts" pants was that his pants ripped pregame.
In order to keep them up, Sandell had to keep pulling them higher, he told the OU Daily.
Sandell clearly doesn't like his pants too long, anyway. Photos from before that game against Tennessee feature plenty of thigh from Sandell, and so do the games since.
According to KOCO 5 in Oklahoma, Sandell has even been dubbed "Thighsman."
Sandell can do whatever he wants if he keeps making kicks.
The transfer from UTSA is 23-for-24 on field goals and 32-for-32 on extra points this season for the Sooners.
With the College Football Playoff getting underway Friday night against Alabama, Oklahoma will need Sandell to maintain his strong form.
