Bear and Tiger Bachmeier are brothers who have become central figures for the BYU football team in 2025. Each transferred from Stanford and quickly established themselves in key roles. Bear, the younger brother, made history as the first true freshman quarterback to start a season opener for BYU.
He was highly recruited out of Murrieta Valley High School in California for his dual-threat ability and competitiveness, earning All-State honors and multi-sport recognition before making his stop at Stanford. 247 Sports Greg Biggins said, "(Bear) Bachmeier is an exciting dual-threat quarterback who can beat a defense with his arm or his legs. At 6-2, 225 pounds, he’s built like a tank and can take off and run for big yards and does a nice job escaping initial pressure and extending plays. ."
