Boise State had high expectations heading into the season, but it's a different Mountain West team that's dominating the field.
The UNLV Rebels are 6-0 overall and 2-0 in conference. They'll meet with the Broncos in Idaho for a conference matchup. This is the first time they'll face each other this season, with a potential conference playoff game in store, too.
Both squads are 2-0 in the Mountain West, so this game will determine who earns the top spot. San Diego State is also 2-0, but it doesn't play this week, paving way for UNLV or Boise State to take sole possession of first place with a win.
Although the Rebels are undefeated, they've played weaker competition. The Broncos faced Notre Dame and South Florida, dropping both of those contests. This would be a major victory for Boise State to remind teams that it's still the powerhouse of this conference.
