Vanderbilt fell out of the College Football Playoff discussion through very little fault of its own.
Vandy, an SEC team, went 10-2.
Many are making the case that the Commodores wouldn't have been a question for the CFP at all if they were a different program.
Check out this post on X from SEC Network reporter Alyssa Lang:
"Can’t stop thinking about the fact that a 10-2 SEC team is likely going to get left out today. Can’t help but wonder if some other programs had the same schedule & record that Vandy has, if they’d also get left out."

Vanderbilt's two losses came to Alabama and to Texas.
That would likely have it make sense to be behind the Crimson Tide in the rankings, who had two losses before losing the conference championship game on Saturday.
Two-loss Utah and BYU are both likely to miss out, as well, although they don't have the marquee brand of the SEC on their side. Miami is on the bubble at 10-2, as well.
And Diego Pavia's place in the Heisman discussion seems like it might come up just short, too, after Fernando Mendoza led Indiana past Ohio State on Saturday night.
Vandy will go play in a bowl and have a chance to end the season with a resounding win.
The Commodores would've much preferred a chance to prove their mettle fully in the College Football Playoff.
