South Florida quarterback Byrum Brown made sure the Bulls never looked back in a 55-23 win over UTSA on Thursday night. But he also set a record in the process.

Brown went 14-of-15 while accounted for 348 total yards and three touchdowns at Raymond James Stadium, keeping its American Athletic Conference title and College Football Playoff hopes alive. He's the first quarterback in college or NFL over the past 30 years with 200 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and a 90 percent competition percentage, according to On3's Brett McMurphy.

The Bulls (7-2, 4-1) forced turnovers on UTSA’s first two possessions. A 40-yard interception return for a touchdown by Tavin Ward on the opening play, followed by an 85-yard fumble return score from Fred Gaskin to seize early control.

Keshaun Singleton caught four passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and Nykahi Davenport ran for 94 yards and two scores.

USF’s defense dominated, collecting six sacks and 12 tackles for loss while holding standout UTSA running back Robert Henry to just 27 yards.

“It was as unique of a first quarter as I’ve ever been a part of,” Bulls coach Alex Golesh said. “The defense set the tone early and played with incredible purpose.”

The win moved USF into a three-way tie in the AAC standings, a half-game behind Navy, whom the Bulls visit next Saturday in a pivotal matchup (Noon ET, ESPN2).
