USC Trojans land 4 Mater Dei recruits on national early signing day, including an Ohio State flip image

There's a bit of a social media joke that suggests that the USC Trojans don't always recruit from nearby powerhouse Mater Dei.

That's not true this year.

On national early signing day, the Trojans landed at least four Mater Dei football recruits to join them at the University of Southern California.

Three were expected: Tomuhini Topui, Shaun Scott and Mark Bowman

One was a flip: Kayden Dixon-Wyatt.

Dixon-Wyatt is a talented wide receiver who flipped his commitment from Ohio State after WR guru and recruiter Brian Hartline left the Buckeyes on Wednesday to become the head coach at South Florida.

There was also speculation about another Mater Dei receiver, Chris Henry Jr.

Reports have indicated that Henry is sticking by his commitment to the Buckeyes, but the timing isn't ideal for Ohio State to lose Hartline right on signing day.

If anyone could swoop in late, it'd probably be USC.

But in the slightly tougher-to-cover world of recruiting, this is one that will likely require an official post from Henry or a Mater Dei account or an Ohio State or USC account to be sure.
