Western Carolina quarterback Taron “Tyga” Tyger Dickens delivered a performance for the ages, and it had NFL veteran Teddy Bridgewater beaming with pride.

The Miami Northwestern alum, from the same high school where Bridgewater once starred and later coached, set an NCAA single-game record by completing 46 consecutive passes before his first incompletion in a 23–21 win over Wofford. Dickens finished 53-of-56 for 378 yards and three touchdowns, good for a 94.6% completion rate, also an NCAA record.

Bridgewater shared his reaction on Instagram story after seeing the historic stat line, posting: “Sh— a video game at this point 5! @cho5en_ you special boy!”

The record was the latest milestone in a blistering start for Catamounts quarterback, who has thrown for 1,387 yards and 13 touchdowns in just three games. A Southern Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-SoCon selection, Dickens has thrived under head coach Kerwin Bell, the former Florida Gators and NFL quarterback who has helped shape his precision and decision-making.

Following last week’s win over Campbell, Bell praised his young quarterback’s mastery of the offense: “He’s unbelievable. His arm and the accuracy he throws with, just drops it right into a bucket…we got a chance to be really special this year on the offensive side of the ball.”
