Even after another frustrating defeat, Deion Sanders’ postgame remarks took a startling turn, one that went well beyond football.

Following Colorado’s 35-21 loss to TCU, Sanders revealed that he’s once again battling severe circulation problems in his leg, a condition that has already cost him multiple surgeries and toes in the past.

“Cat’s out the bag,” Sanders said. “I think I got more blood clots. I’m hurting like crazy. I got the doctor’s appointment Monday to see what time it is. I’m not getting blood to my leg. That’s why my leg is throbbing.”

He paused, then added softly, “I’m sorry to get that out, but thank you for noticing.”

For Sanders, the revelation underscored the personal toll of a season slipping into frustration. The Buffaloes, now 2-4, continue to find new ways to lose winnable games. Yet their coach, visibly limping and grimacing on the sideline, refuses to deflect accountability.

“We keep doing the same old thing we always done, we gonna get the same old things we’ve always gotten,” he said. “If I’m tolerating it, that means I’m a part of it. I got to do a better job of putting a stop to it when I see it.”

Even while acknowledging the pain, Sanders kept his focus on leadership and execution. “We got to do a better job, man,” he said. “I’m racking my brain to figure it out.”

It was a raw, human moment. Deion Sanders battling both his team’s shortcomings and his own body. And as the Buffaloes search for answers midway through the season, their head coach may be waging a fight far more serious than the box score suggests.
