This college football season hasn't quite gone how the Syracuse Orange would've wanted it to.

But this week, they learned some big news about the fates of QB Steve Angeli and RB Yasin Willis.

Both plan to return to SU next season, according to Syracuse.com's Chris Carlson.

"Syracuse RB Yasin Willis said he’ll be back next year for SU," Carlson wrote on X. "He and Fran have discussed money but he hasn’t signed anything yet. Quarterback Steve Angeli said he will be back with Orange as well. Good news for SU on a pair of key players."

Syracuse's season took a turn for the worse when Angeli tore his Achilles.

The transfer from Notre Dame completed 62.8% of his passes before getting hurt for 1,317 yards and 10 TDs (2 INTs).

Willis missed time earlier this season with injury but has been effective when healthy.

Through nine games played, Willias has run 129 times for 558 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and scored four touchdowns. He's the Orange's most physical, powerful runner and still has a couple years of eligibility remaining.

Syracuse has just a 3-7 record with two games remaining.

On Saturday, they'll play at Notre Dame. A week later, they host Boston College to close out the season.

Angeli's health will be a big narrative next preseason. The key part of that is that it'll be something that is still on the Orange's plate, rather than elsewhere in the country.
