Will key termination at Nebraska mean anything for transfer rumors around QB Dylan Raiola? image

Nebraska is expected to move on from offensive line coach Donovan Raiola, according to reports from Rivals and On3. Raiola has been on the Cornhuskers’ staff since 2022 and is also the uncle of sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola.

The decision comes during a stretch of heavy speculation about Dylan Raiola’s long-term future in Lincoln. Earlier reports suggested there was uncertainty about whether the former five-star quarterback would stay at Nebraska, though head coach Matt Rhule pushed back strongly in November, saying he had no indication Raiola was considering leaving and emphasized his support for the injured QB.

Raiola’s 2025 season was cut short on Nov. 1 when he suffered a broken fibula against USC. Before the injury, he threw for around 2,000 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. In 22 career games as a Cornhusker, Raiola has totaled 4,819 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions.

A highly touted recruit out of Buford High School in Georgia, Raiola originally committed to Georgia before flipping to Nebraska, where his father Dominic played center from 1997–2000. Adding to the recent noise, his younger brother Dayton, a three-star quarterback in the 2026 class, decommitted from Nebraska earlier this year.

For now, Dylan Raiola’s focus remains on recovery. He’s had surgery and is rehabbing with the goal of returning to the field in 2026, while Nebraska enters the offseason with major changes and plenty of questions ahead.
