Is Kewan Lacy related to Kyren Lacy? Explaining the last name connection for Ole Miss RB image

In the College Football Playoff semifinals, there is no player more electric than running back Kewan Lacy. The Ole Miss Rebels running back has lit it up all season, and now, Pete Golding's team is two wins away from their first national championship (in the title game era) in program history.

Lacy has been one of the most dynamic players in college football this season, placing in the top three in FBS with 1,464 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, finding paydirt in all but one game. If Ole Miss is going to continue its magical run, expect No. 5 to be at the center of it.

But, the Ole Miss star is not the first Lacy to light up the SEC; a few years ago, Kyren Lacy of LSU — who passed away in April 2025 — was one of the most dynamic players in the South. That begs the question: are the two related?

Here's more on Lacy and his ties to the former LSU receiver.
