Kentucky quarterback Zach Calzada apologized Friday after a social media video surfaced showing him boasting about NIL earnings.

The video, posted to X by another user, showed Calzada counting a thick stack of $100 bills while addressing a critic by name.

“Hey, what you need to do, Garrett, is your a-- needs to stop hatin’ and go get you some money,” Calzada said in the clip. “But since you ain’t got nothing, you can count mine. Don’t lose count, Garrett. Straight hundreds.”

Calzada said he sent the video to someone who had apparently criticized his play this season. A Kentucky spokesman told the Lexington Herald-Leader that Calzada “has taken responsibility for his actions. He has done the right thing and apologized. Now, it’s time to move forward.”

Calzada reportedly took a $1.25 million NIL deal from Kentucky before the season.

The seventh-year quarterback is in the midst of his third stop. He started the first two games for the Wildcats before injuring his throwing shoulder in a 30-23 loss to Ole Miss on Sept. 6. He completed just 47.2% of his passes for 234 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

Kentucky hosts Florida on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. ET, SECN).
