James Madison might have one of college football's most unique helmets to date.
As part of the first-ever collegiate Marvel Super Hero Day, JMU will wear superhero-themed helmets when it takes on Washington State on Nov. 22.
With one side of the helmet still sporting the traditional James Madison logo and each players will choose one of five Marvel heroes – Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor or Black Panther – on the other side of their helmet.
"What an awesome opportunity to unite the excitement of one of our most highly-anticipated home games in program history with a first-of-its-kind game promotion," JMU Director of Athletics Matt Roan said.

"We're so thankful to Marvel for their collaboration with this unique promotion. I also want to thank the JMU Foundation for its collaboration in making this possible.
"It's special to combine the passion of this university, athletics department, and football program with the passion that so many people share about the Marvel brand and their love of Super Heroes. We're looking forward to an amazing game day experience in and around Bridgeforth Stadium."
The Dukes are currently 7-1 on the season and sit atop the Sun Belt East division. JMU's only loss on the season came early against Louisville.
