Haynes King isn't one to step away early.
The Georgia Tech quarterback likes to finish what he started.
That's quite pertinent on Saturday, as the Yellow Jackets prepare to take on BYU in the always popular Pop-Tarts Bowl.
There are plenty of player opt-outs this time of year. But not King.
Is Haynes King playing today?
Yes, Haynes King is set to play QB for Georgia Tech in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
“Throughout this year, we put our blood, sweat and tears into this team,” King told reporters this week. “I’m not one to quit and be selfish. I always finish what I start.”
King finished 10th in Heisman Trophy voting this season and was the ACC Player of the Year.
He threw for 2,697 yards and 12 touchdowns and ran for another 922 yards and 15 touchdowns.
King's college career, which began at Texas A&M, has included 9,232 passing yards, 63 passing TDs, 2,396 rushing yards and 37 rushing TDs.
And he's going to get this one final chance to add to his legacy.
