The College Football Playoff announced a major addition to its 2026 national championship festivities, though it has nothing to do with the action on the field.
Global music star Pitbull, known as “Mr. 305,” will headline the Capital One Music Stage at the Allstate Championship Tailgate during championship week in Miami. He will be joined by Latina country artist Kat Luna for a daylong celebration on Monday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. To 6 p.m. ET.
In addition to performing, Pitbull is partnering with the CFP and his SLAM Foundation to give back to the Miami community, with a focus on honoring educators who have made a meaningful impact. He will speak at the annual Extra Yard for Teachers Summit on Saturday, Jan. 17, where he is scheduled to share his personal story and recognize teachers who helped shape his career.
Pitbull is also collaborating with the CFP’s licensing agent, CLC, on an exclusive Pitbull x College Football Playoff merchandise collection. The apparel and memorabilia will be available at the CFP Shop in Playoff Fan Central, a family-friendly event scheduled for Jan. 16–18 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, as well as online. The collection is designed to reflect Pitbull’s vision of the intersection between college football, South Florida and the national championship.
Pitbull has produced numerous chart-topping hits, including “Timber,” “Time of Our Lives” and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love.” He has more than 57 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 1 billion streams. A Grammy Award winner for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album for his 2015 release “Dale,” Pitbull also founded the Mr. 305 record label and the SiriusXM channel “Globalization.”
He previously made history by partnering with Florida International University to rename its football venue Pitbull Stadium, the first college football stadium named after a musical artist.
The 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship game will be played Monday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
