Florida State needs to turn things around.

The once-proud Seminoles are reeling as a program, and turning things around starts at the quarterback position, where offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn would love a new difference maker.

As usual, the transfer portal is ripe with QBs for the picking.

The Athletic's Manny Navarro has predicted FSU's next quarterback in a new article. His choice: Colton Joseph from Old Dominion.

"Gus Malzahn’s offense needs a mobile quarterback," Navarro writes. "Joseph, the Sun Belt’s Offensive Player of the Year, fits what the Seminoles need from a dual-threat perspective."

Joseph just completed his sophomore year at Old Dominion.

He completed 59.7% of his passes for 2,624 yards and 21 touchdowns, leading the Sun Belt in yards per completion.

He also ran 158 times for 1,007 yards (6.4 ypc) and 13 touchdowns.

All told, he accounted for 34 touchdowns as a sophomore at ODU after having 11 passing and 11 rushing TDs as a freshman.

Joseph didn't play in the Old Dominion bowl game, a win over USF, since he had already decided to transfer.

He'll have a lot of big schools interested, but he'd certainly be a solid fit for the Seminoles to start turning this thing around.
