Ryan Silverfield has turned the Memphis Tigers into a consistently excellent football program.
When a coach does that at a mid-tier level, they're often eyed as the next big thing to get hired by a bigger school.
In this case, a rumor has sprung up that Silverfield is heading to Arkansas to be the Razorbacks' next football coach.
Not so fast, though.
Did Arkansas hire Ryan Silverfield?
No, Arkansas has not hired Ryan Silverfield.
The rumor began thanks to a viral post on X from an account that literally has "parody" in its bio:

That's simply not a real piece of news.
Could Silverfield eventually be nabbed from Memphis by an SEC school? Sure. But it isn't happening right now, especially not in the middle of the season.
The Tigers have a chance to make the College Football Playoff, and they play a huge game against Tulane on Friday night.
Silverfield might not stay forever, but he's definitely got more important things on his mind right now than looking for a new gig.
