It's time for the College Football Playoff contenders to make their closing arguments.
With the regular season complete, conference championship games will give the CFP selection committee a bit more to ponder before they finalize the 12-team bracket Sunday.
The highest-profile games for CFP purposes will take place on Saturday, but the American championship gets started earlier and should play a role in how the bracket shakes out.

Is there a college football game tonight?
There is no college football on the schedule for Thursday, Dec. 4. It's the first Thursday since Sept. 4 without a college game on the docket.
