Is Chandler Morris playing today? Virginia QB injury news update vs. Duke image

The Virginia Cavaliers play a big ACC football game Saturday against the Duke Blue Devils.

And at least for some of the week, there was some uncertainty: Would QB Chandler Morris make it back from injury to play?

Morris has been working his way back through concussion protocol.

The talented transfer exited Virginia's game a week ago in the second quarter after taking a hit to the head.

On the season, Morris has thrown for 2,088 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions.

His backup is sophomore Daniel Kaelin, who last week went 18-for-28 for 145 yards and added 49 rushing yards.

The Cavs enter Saturday in a five-way tip atop the ACC, including with Duke.

Is Chandler Morris playing today?

Chandler Morris is listed as probable to play on Saturday for Virginia.

ESPN on Friday referred to his return as "likely."

Earlier in the week, ESPN's Pete Thamel had reported there was "optimism" about Morris being ready to start on Saturday.

All the words are good words.

There'll still be need for a confirmation that Morris is out there and going through warmups, but it sounds like Virginia will have its leader on the field.
