The long-awaited College Football Playoff Championship is right around the corner, but first two teams must prove themselves in the semifinals.
New Year's festivities brought plenty of intense matchups during the quarterfinal round, with a couple upsets and a couple blowouts. No. 5 Oregon dominated No. 4 Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl, keeping the Red Raiders scoreless, 23-0. Despite a rainy day in Pasadena, Big Ten champions Indiana routed Alabama 38-3 — becoming the only squad with an opening-round bye to win a game in the quarterfinals.
The other side of the bracket was littered with upsets, the first coming from the Cotton Bowl, where No. 10 Miami defeated the defending champion Ohio State, 24-14. Meanwhile in Louisiana, the Sugar Bowl turned into a barn burner, with No. 6 Ole Miss ultimately ousting No. 3 Georgia.
Now, just four teams remain in the running for the 2026 title. Who will punch their ticket to the big game Jan. 19?
