Coming into this weekend, many people were worried if Texas QB Arch Manning was hurt after a few clips surfaced showing him grimacing on his face while throwing the ball against San Jose State.
The only person I’ve ever seen grimace like this when throwing is Kirk Cousins. This is a sign of a mechanical issue or an injury issue. Regardless, I think a week off vs UTEP would be very beneficial for Texas’ future. pic.twitter.com/2fQhZBwY5u

HC Steve Sarkisian still gave QB Manning the nod to start against UTEP. Texas scored two touchdowns, both coming from Manning's legs, running it into the end zone.
Manning struggled in the first half, completing only 31% of passes and having a lot of miscues on his throws. Since starting 4 for 5, Manning has been 1 for 9 passing with 1 interception. The Longhorns are 1 for 9 in the first half, converting on third downs. Manning was receiving boos in Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.
Arch Manning just threw his ninth straight incompletion in the first half (one was an INT) and the boo birds are out.

In the second half, the Longhorns stuck to the running game. As Manning only threw it 9 times, including a touchdown. The Longhorns weren't able to capitalize on multiple red zone trips, having to settle for two field goals. Manning was able to find WR Ryan Wingo for his only passing touchdown of the game.
Manning still has a lot of work to do, but hopefully he'll continue to progress throughout the season. Here's everything you need to know about his performance.
