Arch Manning has been at the center of the college football world, and on Saturday, he faces his first SEC test of the 2025 season. The redshirt sophomore will lead No. 9 Texas into the Swamp to take on the Florida Gators.
Manning is coming off a stellar performance against Sam Houston State, completing 18 of 21 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns, while adding two more on the ground. On the season, he has completed 61.3% of his passes for 888 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions.
Florida enters the matchup at 1-3 and struggling, but remains a challenging opponent for Manning and the Longhorns. The Gators, who began the year ranked No. 15 in the AP Poll, have fallen to top-ranked teams No. 3 LSU and No. 4 Miami, with quarterback D.J. Lagway and the offense combining for just 17 points in those contests.
The Gators defense is athletic, allowing 173.0 passing yards per game and 16.0 points per game, which is fifth in the SEC. Florida has already caused veteran quarterbacks in Garrett Nussmeier and Carson Beck to struggle. All this goes to show that Florida, though the record might show otherwise, is one of the tougher tests that Manning has faced in his college career.

5:38 p.m.: To start the drive, Manning connects with Moseley — who is making his Texas debut — down the sideline for 22 yards to get Texas across midfield.

Facing a 3rd & 16, Manning can't find anyone downfield and steps up in the pocket for no yards. Texas will punt for the fourth time today. The Longhorns are 1-for-7 on third down.
5:25 p.m.: The second half is only moments away, and if Texas wants to get back in the game, the offense needs to get going.
The Longhorns were outgained 263 yards to 87 in the first half, with their one score coming off the Florida turnover.
Manning, Texas trailing 1-3 Florida
5:05 p.m.: Texas was pinned deep in its own territory, and the offense is unable to do anything, as Manning gets slammed to the ground on 3rd & 9 for Florida's first sack of the day.
Texas goes to the locker room down 19-7. Manning and the Longhorns offense will get the ball to start the third.
4:55 p.m.: The Texas defense gets a huge stop to keep the deficit at 12, and after a Florida punt, Manning gets the ball with 1:46 remaining.

4:50 p.m.: Manning and co. was facing another 3rd & long, and Florida once again got to Manning quick in the pocket. But, the quarterback steps up and delivers a deep ball downfield to Emmett Moseley V; but, it misses on what would have been a walk-in touchdown.
You can see the greats flash with their football Iq in college first… Saying this right now… Arch Manning does not have a quick enough football brain and he’s just leaving wide open guys left and right. While the other Qb is balling out in his face… pic.twitter.com/S7pdd7jZ8p

Texas punted for the third time, but the Gators got through and blocked it. The ball went through the end zone and Texas now trails 19-7.
4:49 p.m.: After another long Florida drive that extended the lead to 17-7, Manning throws a fluttering ball to nobody. He looked frustrated after the throw.

Manning gets his first big completion and first touchdown of the day
4:31 p.m.: Star running back Tre Wisner is playing for the first time since Week 1, and Manning connects with him for the Longhorns' first touchdown of the day.
Steve Sarkisian calls a naked bootleg for Manning, who hits Wisner right in front of the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown.

Texas cuts the lead to 10-7.
4:30 p.m.: Livingstone has been Manning's favorite target today, and the two connect again deep down the left sideline for a 33-yard completion.
Livingstone — Manning's roommate — went to the sideline after he was hit on his knee going down.
4:28 p.m.: The Texas defense has set Manning and co. up in opponent territory. Lagway hit his tight end Hayden hansen, but as he turned upfield, he fumbled and it was recovered by Texas' Anthony Hill Jr.
The Longhorns will start across midfield for Manning's third drive, tailing 10-0.
4:22 p.m.: Manning's throwing arm was hit multiple times on the drive. While the quarterback did not show any noticeable signs of pain, he shook it out after getting hit. Florida, who has a 10-0, has pressured Manning multiple times.
4:19 p.m.: On 2nd & 9, Manning was crushed by the Gators defense, but was able to get the ball out for an incomplete pass. He tried hitting Livingstone on third down, but to no avail. Texas will punt for the second straight time to open the game.
4:18 p.m.: Facing a 3rd & 2, Texas once again trusts Manning on the ground. He takes it for a quarterback draw to the right to move the chains for the Longhorns.
4:13 p.m.: With the Florida offense scoring on its first two drives, Manning and the Texas offense has not seen the field much. On his first throw of the second drive, Manning fits one into Ryan Wingo for a five-yard completion as time expires in the first quarter.
Against Sam Houston, Wingo had four receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns.

3:32 p.m.: With kickoff only moments away, Manning and Texas are ready in Gainesville.
