Bowl season is just about upon us.

College football's lengthy postseason period, where teams fly all over the country to cap their seasons with one more clash, is on deck.

On Saturday, a number of Big Ten teams became locked in to their bowl destinations.

Technically, these won't be announced as a wholesale arrangement until the end of the weekend.

But college football insider Brett McMurphy has shared a number of the plans.

According to McMurphy:

  • Michigan is going to the Citrus Bowl to play an SEC team.
  • Iowa is going to the ReliaQuest Bowl to play an SEC team.
  • Nebraska will play in Las Vegas against a former Pac-12 team.
  • Illinois will be in the Music City Bowl vs. An SEC foe.
  • Penn State gets the Pinstripe Bowl against an ACC opponent.

Not a bad slate.

The Big Ten knows it'll be getting Ohio State, Indiana and Oregon into the College Football Playoff, which is what the conference cares most about.

But having solid exposure in the postseason, which also includes USC, Northwestern, Minnesota and Washington, is a good thing for the league, too.
