Bowl game revealed for Michigan Wolverines after missing College Football Playoff image

Michigan's only chance to make the College Football Playoff was to beat Ohio State a week ago in The Game.

Once that didn't happen, the Wolverines knew the best they could do would be a selection to a fun bowl game.

They got about as fun a choice as they could've gotten.

What is Michigan's bowl game?

Michigan will play in the Citrus Bowl, according to college football insider Brett McMurphy.

The Wolverines will take on the Texas Longhorns.

That's as high of a profile bowl game as you can get outside of the CFP.

The game will be played on Dec. 31, New Year's Eve, in Orlando, Florida.

It's a matchup of two of the best recent QB recruits.

Texas has Arch Manning leading its offense, where things have gotten better as the season has gone along.

Michigan is led by true freshman Bryce Underwood, who has had flashes but also struggled at times.

The Longhorns and Wolverines will get plenty of eyes on them even in a game that doesn't matter all that much. It's a great barometer for the two young quarterbacks.
