Michael Irvin goes viral for resurfaced post after SNL skit image

Michael Irvin can now say he has made it. It's not everyday you can say you're portrayed on Saturday Night Live.

With Monday's national championship game and the attention being on "The U," the Hall-of-Famer has been in the spotlight due to his crazy antics while cheering on the Miami Hurricanes

Irvin was portrayed by SNL's Kam Patterson, who appeared during the "Weekend Update" segment alongside Michael Che. The look was unmistakable to say the least.

"My resting heart rate is a perfect score," Patterson said as Irvin, "16,000."

Che mentioned Irvin has been on Miami's sideline throughout the entire College Football Playoff, but this comes way past his time as a player. Patterson then joked about Irvin running to the national championship game from 30 Rock's NBC studio.

"If you see an angry, 60-year-old man run down Highway 95, well over the speed limit with bugs all over his face and an ass full of police tranquilizer darts, you better get out of the way," Patterson said as Irvin.

All jokes aside, Patterson locked down Irvin's style to the fullest and there's clear evidence of this. An old tweet from Irvin started to make the rounds on social media during the Sunday aftermath.

"MAN WHEN WE PLAYED IN THAT COLD WEATHER WE WAS COLD," Irvin wrote 12 years ago this week.

The former Cowboys star who is known for his energetic and sometimes over-the-top reactions, especially when celebrating his beloved Hurricanes, truly added some fuel to the conversation.

As for the game, Miami's postseason path has included wins over No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 2 Ohio State and No. 6 Ole Miss. The only ACC team in the CFP was the last at-large, but have shown up and showed out. However, the Canes biggest opponent will be the Hoosiers.

Led by Heisman Trophy-winning QB Fernando Mendoza, Indiana is chasing history at 15-0 on the season. The Hoosiers can close out a perfect season but will do so on Miami's home turf. They've never been to this stage before and speaks volumes about what Curt Cignetti has done in Bloomington.
