Carson Beck threw three touchdown passes with Malachi Toney catching two of them as No. 16 Miami strengthened its College Football Playoff case with a 41-7 rout of NC State on Saturday.

Beck finished 21-of-27 for 291 yards, completing his final 13 throws as the Hurricanes (8-2, 4-2 ACC) delivered another conference win. Miami has five victories by at least 25 points this season, its most since 2002.

The Hurricanes dominated from the start. Jakobe Thomas intercepted two passes in the first quarter, returning one for a touchdown to help Miami build a 20-0 lead. Girard Pringle Jr. Powered the ground game with 116 yards.

Miami led 41-0 before substituting heavily in the fourth quarter on Senior Day. The Hurricanes outgained the Wolfpack 581-149 and improved to 6-1 at home.

CJ Bailey completed 17 of 30 passes for 120 yards for N.C. State (5-5, 2-4 ACC), and scored the Wolfpack’s lone touchdown with 2:18 remaining to avoid the program’s first shutout since 2014. The Wolfpack have allowed 36 or more points in four straight games for the first time since 2013 under coach Dave Doeren.
