Why isn't Garrett Nussmeier playing today?

Garrett Nussmeier isn't playing for LSU against Arkansas on Saturday due to injury.

According to On3, Nussmeier re-aggravated a "nagging" injury during practice on Thursday.

Interim head coach Frank Wilson said it was an abdomen injury but that Nussmeier was probable. He was then listed as questionable on the injury report.

LSU is playing Michael Van Buren at QB.

Van Buren is a transfer from Mississippi State who started eight games for the Bulldogs last fall as a true freshman, throwing 11 touchdowns and running for five more.

Nussmeier was benched against Alabama for Van Buren, but the plan this week was to start Nussmeier again, maybe with Van Buren mixed in. Now, there seemingly is no Nussmeier at all.
