LSU coach Lane Kiffin wasted little time stirring up transfer rumors in the SEC quarterback market. He called his own shot with a message that set social media buzzing.
After Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed told FOX Sports' Robert Griffin III he couldn’t pass up the kind of money Kiffin received from LSU, Kiffin found his way into the conversation.
“Shoot if $91 Million for 7 years was in front of my face I would not pass it up," Reed said on the latest Outta Pocket podcast.
#ComeToTheBoot @RGIII Great offense for a QB!!! ♟️ https://t.co/2kUk3MCWbR

Kiffin jumped into a public recruiting pitch. “#ComeToTheBoot @RGIII Great offense for a QB!!!” Kiffin wrote to the Aggies’ rising star and openly inviting him to Baton Rouge.
Kiffin, who known for aggressive portal recruiting, might try to pry one of the SEC’s top young quarterbacks away from a conference rival. Reed threw 25 touchdowns and eclipsed 3,000 yards this season, has helped lead No. 7 Texas A&M to an 11-win campaign and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
A Nashville native and former four-star recruit, Reed arrived in College Station with more than 20 major offers. His rapid ascent has made him key to A&M’s hopes as it prepares to host No. 10 Miami in the opening round of the CFP. The matchup features the Aggies’ 13th-ranked offense against one of the nation’s stingiest defenses.
Texas A&M’s late-season loss to Texas kept it out of the SEC Championship Game, but Reed’s play has the Aggies as a legitimate postseason threat. Whether Kiffin was serious or not remains to be seen. However, it appears he's in the market for a new quarterback.
