A seventh year of eligibility at a seventh different school?

Sure, why not -- that's just the college football world that we're living in now.

That's exactly what TJ Finley is seeking. The quarterback, who early in his college career played for both LSU and Auburn, isn't done.

Finley is intending to enter the transfer portal and seek a seventh year of eligibility, according to On3 Sports.

It's been a winding college journey for Finley.

He played in five games for LSU in 2020, throwing for 941 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2021, it was on to Auburn, where he played in 13 games across two seasons.

Finley was at Texas State in 2023, his biggest season, throwing for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns.

It was on to Western Kentucky for 2024, playing in just three games.

In 2025, Finley played in seven games at Georgia State, throwing for 1,244 yards and six TDs.

Finley had initially committed to play at Tulane in 2025 before he was arrested on a charge of illegal possession of stolen things. After the case played out, he ended up at Georgia State instead.

It's not clear whether Finley will be granted another year of eligibility, or which new school would want him now, but he's trying.
