Survive in Manhattan: Kansas State avoids disastrous 0-2 Star in thriller image

There was a near shocker in College Football on Saturday night, as the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, went to Manhattan, Kansas, and led the Kansas State Wildcats 35-31 with under 1:00 to go.

That's when Avery Johnson took over, leading his team down the field and throwing a six-yard touchdown strike to Joe Jackson to give the Wildcats a 38-35 lead.

North Dakota got the ball to the 47-yard line, but ran out of time, and will head home to take on Portland State on Saturday at 0-1 on the season.

The loss for Chris Klieman's team would drop them to 0-2 after going to Ireland in the season opener and losing to Iowa State.

Kansas State came into the game as a 27.5-point favorite in this game.

North Dakota's quarterback Jerry Kaminski finished 21 of 32 for 219 yards and a touchdown via the pass. Sawyer Seidl was the main cog on the ground, with eight carries, 62 yards, and two touchdowns.

Kansas State will remain at home and host Army on Saturday, before going on the road to Arizona.
