Urban Meyer shares motivational national title words toward Indiana football before CFP image

Former Ohio State Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer is finally a full-on believer in the Indiana Hoosiers entering the College Football Playoff. A 13-10 Big Ten title win against the Buckeyes put Meyer's belief in the Hoosiers over the edge.

In simple terms, Meyer's latest rebuttal about the Hoosiers' win over the Buckeyes was swooped into the sample size basket of a "real win."

“I think so,” Urban Meyer said on the "Triple Option Podcast.". “Because the three wins they had were real wins. Once again, on the field, they did it. They went to Oregon and beat Oregon. They went to Penn State, I know, but Penn State had, on paper, better players than Indiana, they beat them. And then they went to Ohio State, arguably the most talented team in the country, and beat them. So, I think they are going in. They are the No. 1 team in America.”

After the Buckeyes laid claim to No. 1 previously, Meyer notices a paradigm shift happening in Bloomington.

“Can they run in the same speed? I watched that damn Georgia team, man. That’s the [expletive] that I’m used to seeing in the SEC. They look real. They look real, real,” Meyer said. “But, to answer your question, yes. A firm yes.”

It's unclear whether Indiana's luck will run out come postseason time. But it is clear, though is they have the momentum to make a deep run in the playoffs should it continue to play the same way they are capable of playing as of right now.

Whether it will maintain that is unclear, but what seems obvious is, they are a strong favorite to go to the national championship, or win it, by seasons end.

For now, Indiana's story is far from over. And Meyer recognizes that them having a chance is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.
