The Indiana Hoosiers are under one week away from realizing history: the school's first national title win would culminate in an undefeated, unforgettable season that one would have had to see to believe.
Todd McShay is one of those who's all-in on Indiana's long-term success.
“Indiana has robbed Alabama and Oregon of its collective will in back-to-back outings… With just eight 4 and 5 star recruits (and Mendoza and a bunch of mid-late NFL draft prospects),” McShay wrote on 'X.'. “Tell me how this isn’t the greatest single-season coaching job in my lifetime. Because I’m here for the fight.”
McShay has been really open about this year's incoming NFL draft class, but when it comes to the Hoosiers, several people disagreed with him.

Todd McShay gets critical pushback about Indiana
"Coaching isn’t nearly as important as it was pre NIL – you can buy your way into the playoffs if you can afford it. That said his coaching style and these players are a match made in heaven,” one person wrote.
Another said the Hoosiers have essentially been gift-wrapped this historic season.
“This era is completely different than the pre-portal one," another added. "All the big boys are depleted. Names mean little. System places premium on coaching. Cignetti is elite. But he could not do this in prior era."

Regardless of one's opinion of McShay, the Hoosiers just need to beat the Miami Hurricanes next Monday night to finish the story.
We'll find out if Fernando Mendoza, Curt Cignetti and Indiana's cast of characters can do it.
Only time will tell.
