Indiana coach Curt Cignetti keeps adding to a remarkable list of rewards following the most outstanding season in school history.

Just hours after leading the Hoosiers to their first national championship with a 27-21 victory over Miami in the College Football Playoff title game, Cignetti picked up an unusual bonus off the field: a lifetime supply of beer.

Upland Brewing Company announced it will provide Cignetti with unlimited beer after the coach name-dropped the local brewery during his postgame celebration Monday night. The Bloomington-based company said it was “so thankful” for the shoutout and decided to reward the second-year coach accordingly.

“Coach Cignetti and his staff have ignited IU Football and brought so much joy and energy to Bloomington and the state of Indiana,” the company said in a statement to TMZ Sports. “We are excited to continue providing beer for the Hoosiers as they celebrate the national championship. We are also announcing a lifetime supply of Upland beer for Coach Cig as a thank you for the postgame comments.”

Founded in 1998, Upland is the third-largest brewery in Indiana and has already been supplying the program with postgame beverages throughout the season. After Indiana completed a perfect run through the CFP, the brewery decided the reward should extend well beyond a single celebration.

Upland and Indiana Athletics have worked together for several years, with a portion of proceeds from Hoosier Gameday Lager supporting student scholarships through IU Licensing and Trademarks.

A championship celebration is scheduled for Saturday in Bloomington, and with Upland involved, there a good chance Cignetti might crack open a cold one.
