The Indiana Hoosiers are all business when it comes to their national title run starting next month, but looking ahead to next season is going to be critical when it comes to the quarterback position assuming Fernando Mendoza declares for the NFL Draft.

If he does exactly that, a prominent transfer quarterback in TCU Horned Frogs signal-caller Josh Hoover could be available according to CBS Sports' Chris Hummer.

"Indiana is an early school to watch with Josh Hoover, per sources," Hummer tweeted Thursday.

Hoover released a statement the same day confirming those intentions.

"First, I want to thank God for the opportunities that he has blessed me with to play this game," part of Hoover's statement said. "I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to represent TCU for an incredible four years. It has been a dream to be able to play and graduate from this university, and I will forever be grateful for that."

After throwing 29 touchdowns this season for the Horned Frogs (and 71 total throughout his career thus far), Hoover's transferring signal means the USC Trojans will likely be playing against backup quarterback Ken Seals Tuesday, Dec. 30 in the Alamo Bowl.

This could be a huge development for Indiana as Hoover is already a seasoned veteran in college football and a dynamic passer.

Should coach Curt Cignetti pull the trigger in the coming weeks, it's safe to assume the Hoosiers will remain a national and Big Ten contender in the years to come.

But only time will tell.
