No. 4 Georgia heads to Atlanta on Saturday looking to extend its dominance in the in-state rivalry against No. 23 Georgia Tech.
The Bulldogs (10-1, No. 4 CFP) have won seven straight in the series and haven’t fallen to the Yellow Jackets (9-2, No. 16 CFP) at Bobby Dodd Stadium since 1999.
Georgia continues to lean on its balance and depth, rebounding from its lone loss to Alabama with a decisive win over Ole Miss. Quarterback Gunner Stockton and a physical defensive front have kept the Bulldogs in the thick of the College Football Playoff race entering the final weekend.
On the other hand, Georgia Tech is enjoying its best season in nearly a decade under Brent Key. The Yellow Jackets have surged behind quarterback Haynes King and an opportunistic defense.
However, Tech has also lost two of the last three games in ACC play, including a 42-28 dismantling to Pitt this past Saturday. A win would mark Tech’s first 10-win season since 2009 and shake up the CFP picture.
This should be a great battle on Friday, but not expected to go eight overtimes like last year (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
