AP Top 25: Georgia back to No. 4; North Texas snaps 66-year drought image

Georgia climbed one spot to No. 4 in The Associated Press College Football poll released Sunday.

The Bulldogs returning to its highest ranking in more than two months after a decisive 35-10 win over Texas. Oklahoma also rejoined the top 10 after defeating Alabama. 

Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M held the top three spots for the fifth straight week. The Buckeyes, now 10-0, received 57 first-place votes after cruising past UCLA. Indiana earned eight first-place votes following its win over Wisconsin, and Texas A&M collected one after a historic comeback win over South Carolina. 

Ole Miss moved back into the top five at No. 5. Oregon and Texas Tech tied at No. 6, with Oklahoma rising three spots to No. 8 after snapping Alabama’s eight-game winning streak. The Crimson Tide fell six places to No. 10, just behind No. 9 Notre Dame.

Utah climbed to No. 13 after its third straight dominant victory, while Miami jumped two spots to No. 14, overtaking Georgia Tech as the highest-ranked ACC team.

A historic moment came at No. 22, where North Texas entered the poll at 9-1, its first AP ranking since 1959. They snapped the longest drought in the history of the poll. 

James Madison rose to No. 21, and Missouri returned at No. 23 after topping Mississippi State.
