Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders had his home broken into during Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN. Pro Football Talk first reported the incident.
The burglary occurred while Sanders was making his NFL debut at Huntington Bank Field, stepping in for injured starter Dillon Gabriel, who entered the league’s concussion protocol on Monday.
The break-in follows a troubling trend of recent burglaries targeting high-profile athletes, including Kansas City Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
Sanders, the 144th pick in the 2025 NFL draft, struggled in his first NFL action, completing 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards with an interception in Cleveland’s 23-16 loss to the AFC North rival. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Sanders will start next Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, if Gabriel is unable to clear protocol
The former Colorado standout entered the league as one of college football’s most accomplished passers, winning the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and multiple All-America honors last year. Sanders set more than 100 school records in two seasons at Colorado and threw a touchdown in an NCAA Division I-record 49 consecutive games.
