Deion Sanders has seen enough of college football’s coaching carousel and how little patience remains in the sport.

During Tuesday's press conference, the Colorado Buffaloes coach addressed another week of firings, calling the growing trend of midseason dismissals “unfortunate” and saying it reflects a larger cultural impatience that extends beyond football.

“It’s unfortunate. There’s no patience in this world,” Sanders said. “How do we exude patience when we can call up right now and get a pizza delivered right here? You can call and get a ride waiting outside for you? Everything is expeditious in this country. Everyone wants the quick fix.

"You’ve got mail-order brides, right? You can get married right away. You can get a BBL — you can come in here flat as we all know what and leave thick as a snicker."

With Mike Leach gone too soon and Mike Gundy currently out of football, Sanders is stepping his game up to be the "hot take coach" with snappy sound bites. His remarks came after LSU fired Brian Kelly in the midst of his fourth year at the helm. He was the 10th coach to get his walking papers since the start of the season. 

Florida dismissed Billy Napier and Colorado State moved on from Jay Norvell the week prior. They joined Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Penn State, UAB, UCLA, and Virginia Tech as the 10 schools that need a new head coach.

“This is a different country that we live in, man, ain’t nobody got no patience no more,” Sanders said. “I understand that. And I don’t either. I want things done right now because I’m used to putting in the work and you want the results from the work you put in. But it don’t always work like that.”

Sanders might’ve been using that statement as a metaphor for his Buffaloes (3-5, 1-4 Big 12), who have stumbled this season. Right now, the wins aren't coming. While his job appears secure heading into November, that could change in a flash.

Colorado was routed 53-7 by Utah last weekend but will look to regroup against Arizona on Saturday. The loss was the worst during Sanders' tenure in Boulder. It's also one he's trying to forget. 

“You got your butt kicked. Don’t sugarcoat it, Sanders said. "Flush the toilet and move on.”
