Deion Sanders added a notable piece to Colorado’s offseason reset by pulling a quarterback out of the transfer portal.
Former Utah quarterback Isaac Wilson has committed to the Colorado Buffaloes, according to On3's Pete Nakos. Wilson is the younger brother of Miami Dolphins quarterback Zach Wilson and gives Coach Prime backup option to Julian Lewis as the Buffaloes retool for 2026.
Wilson started seven games for the Utah Utes in 2024, throwing for 1,510 yards and 10 touchdowns with 11 interceptions across nine appearances. He later slid down the depth chart behind Devon Dampier and attempted just one pass this season, which came in Utah’s 53-7 win over Colorado on Oct. 25.
A former four-star recruit, Wilson was ranked the No. 19 quarterback in the 2024 class and the top overall prospect from Utah out of Corner Canyon High School.
Colorado is coming off a difficult 3-9 season, ranking near the bottom of the Big 12 in both total offense and defense. But Sanders has remained firm in his commitment to the program, insisting improvement is coming.
Despite concerns fueled by losses and athletic director Rick George stepping down with Fernando Lovo taking his place, Sanders will return for his fourth season. The focus now shifts to an aggressive offseason rebuild ahead of a pivotal 2026 campaign in Boulder.
