Deion Sanders entered this third season at Colorado on Friday night with mixed emotions. The Buffaloes coach watched his team go up early after capitalizing on three first quarter turnovers by Georgia Tech's offense.
However, CU quarterback Kaidon Salter is having difficulty settling in with just five first downs in the first half. The Liberty transfer went 6-of-10 for 48 yards and an 8-yard touchdown pass to Dekalon Taylor.
"He wants clarity on everything," Sanders said about Salter during his ESPN halftime interview. "He's playing a good, solid game. We just got to be more productive offensively. We started off the game going right down the darn field."
As for the Buffs defense, they've allowed 279 yards of total offense with 182 yards on the ground. Despite the early miscues, the Yellow Jackets offense stormed back to take a 13-10 halftime lead. Haynes King has thrown for 97 yards and an interception.
"We had some hiccups defensively," Sanders added. "I think there were a couple bad plays on third down and that's why we are down right now."
Salter better settle in for the Buffs, otherwise we might get the first look at five-star freshman Julian Lewis in the second half.
