Colorado’s highest-rated signee in more than a decade is heading to the open market, and the price tag has followed.

Five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the Buffaloes, according to an announcement on his Instagram. Shortly after the decision surfaced, an NIL asking price also emerged. One Florida booster told attorney Darren Heitner that Seaton is seeking roughly $2.5 million per year.

Seaton’s departure represents a major setback for coach Deion Sanders as Colorado continues to reshape its roster around rising quarterback Julian Lewis.

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound lineman was a rare recruit and the No. 18 overall prospect in the 2024 class, per On3's ranking. He arrived in Boulder as the nation’s top offensive tackle and Colorado’s most celebrated signing in years.

On the field, Seaton largely lived up to the billing. Prior to his sophomore season, he earned multiple preseason All-American and All-Big 12 nods. Through the first month of 2025, he posted a nation-best 91.4 Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade. While his run-blocking drew some criticism, Seaton still finished as a second-team All-Big 12 selection and a midseason All-American.

Sanders has been aggressive in the portal, adding impact pieces on both sides of the ball. But losing a blindside protector with two years of eligibility remaining, and clear first-round NFL Draft potential, leaves a need up front.

Seaton enters the portal as one of the most coveted linemen available as the window nears its close.
